MicroG lets YouTube ReVanced sign in to your Google account on phones without root. There are two versions — here is which one you need.

The wrong MicroG is the most common reason sign-in fails. The current downloads on this site are built with the Morphe patches, and those talk to MicroG RE. Official ReVanced builds talk to ReVanced GmsCore.

Switching MicroG? MicroG RE and ReVanced GmsCore share the same app ID, so Android shows “App not installed” if the other one is still on your phone. Uninstall the old one first — you’ll just need to sign in again.

What is ReVanced MicroG?

YouTube ReVanced is a patched copy of YouTube. Google Play Services refuses to sign in apps that have been changed, so ReVanced needs its own login helper. MicroG is a free, open-source replacement for the parts of Play Services that YouTube needs for sign-in. It installs as a separate app and only talks to ReVanced apps — your other apps keep using the real Google Play Services.

How to install MicroG

  1. Pick the right MicroG from the table above and download it.
  2. Open the file. If asked, allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps.
  3. Tap Install, then install YouTube ReVanced.
  4. Open ReVanced, tap the profile icon and sign in.
Installing MicroG

On Android 12 and newer, set Settings → Apps → MicroG → Battery to Unrestricted, otherwise you may be signed out after a while.

MicroG RE here is the 64-bit build, which fits almost every phone. Older 32-bit phones need the universal build from the official MicroG RE releases.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need MicroG for ReVanced?

Only to sign in. Without it, ReVanced plays videos without an account. Rooted users with the Magisk module don’t need it.

Why does sign-in fail?

Usually the wrong MicroG. Downloads from this site need MicroG RE; builds you patch with ReVanced Manager need ReVanced GmsCore. Then set MicroG’s battery usage to Unrestricted.

Can I install both MicroG apps?

No. MicroG RE and ReVanced GmsCore use the same app ID, so only one can be installed at a time. To switch, uninstall the one you have, then install the other. (The original Vanced MicroG 0.2.24 is a separate app and can stay.)

MicroG says my device is not certified — is that a problem?

No. That message is normal and doesn’t stop YouTube ReVanced from signing in.
